String Corrosion Removal

Old pianos or pianos in coastal or humid climates usually acquire extensive corrosion. The environmental elements can speed up the process of corrosion when they are not ideal for the piano. High humidity (above 45%) speeds up the corrosion process exponentially. String corrosion removal can be done to prolong the life of the strings. When the corrosion has gotten out of hand string corrosion removal may not be possible. In those cases restringing would be the best option.
